Character name: Including any pseudonyms/code names they commonly use.
Canon: The series, book, movie etc. they come from, plus any variations on it (e.g. MCU's Iron Man, the TV adaptation of Good Omens, etc.). If they're an OC, please provide a couple of sentences describing the kind of universe they're from.
Age: Must be over 18. If they are chronologically younger but ethically 'adult', explain how.
Gift from Miss L: Who will be protected in exchange for their time in Lovewater?
Powers and abilities: Anything over and above 'basic human'. Please also explain if they are surrendering any of these powers, and/or exchanging them for an additional gift.
Personality: Three paragraphs is a good place to aim for. You don't have to take these points as a guide, but you might want to consider:

- A description of how you might place this character into one of the following AUs. This is to illustrate how you would adapt the character's history and role in society, while maintaining their core personality and motivations:
- Age of Sail (16th-to-mid-19th century period dominated by naval warfare and trade: think Master & Commander, Treasure Island, Hornblower etc.)
- Urban fantasy ('real life' with strong supernatural elements - True Blood, Rivers of London, The Magicians, Teen Wolf etc.)
- Cyberpunk (dystopian sci-fi, per Wikipedia: 'featuring advanced technological and scientific achievements...juxtaposed with a degree of radical change in the social order.' Examples: Blade Runner, The Matrix, Ghost in the Shell etc.)

In most particulars Nadia isn't much different from her baseline self. The main difference is that she has magical powers inherited from her mother. She can make minor manipulations to time—speeding it up or slowing it down—and can also heal or harm with a touch. These skills have been part of her maternal lineage since time immemorial, along with the occasional tendency for them to go out of control—a circumstance that led to her mother's death when Nadia was young.
When her powers began to manifest, she started to resist them almost immediately and sought out ways to suppress them. She’s tried nearly everything—drugs, hypnosis, even resorted to black-market wizardry to counter her innate talents. Nothing really works, and sometimes her attempts have backfired and resulted in unpredictable effects, like sudden fits of déjà vu for everyone in a quarter-mile radius, time loops, and once, an explosion. So instead she tries to ignore it, occasionally self-medicating with recreational substances or booze. But this isn’t sustainable and she knows it. Also, her instinct to heal is so strong that she can’t not use it when she sees someone who’s been hurt.
She's recently met someone with a similar magical lineage, and the two of them have begun to reckon with that past and to learn to master those powers.

Date: 09/02/2022 12:04 (UTC)Sample 2: There is a man, someone Previous, who people wanted to document. They would record him moving and fighting. And...if you would be so kind, I would really like to know who he was. If he's here or if anyone knows him, I'd like to speak with them.
He has...a hat. And he wears clothes that look like Outdoor Adventure, but are not. And he always seems to get into trouble. [Yeah, guys, she knows that's not a very good description. So she continues.]
He has a...thing...that he carries here. [She points to her hip.] It is a long rope that he uses to fight people. And there's a woman who tries to help him, even though others keep trying to steal her jewelry. But I think he just wants to kiss her. Or she wants to kiss him. She has impressive whatnots, and there might even be some youknow involved, but we never see it.
The people of the Collective, which is what they call themselves in my time, always said that the Previous were all about the Worship of the Me, but he doesn’t seem to be that way. Or, if he is, I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. He gets the job done, he saves whatever artifacts are called where you’re from.
Almost like they were wrong the whole damn time. Amazing!
