Lovewater Broadway Station: Marked by 'S' on the map, just east of the Town Square, this is where your character will arrive in town. It's also where supplies are transported to.
Residential areas: including a couple of schools, some corner shops and takeaways, and services like laundrettes.
Newcomers' housing: New arrivals to Lovewater will be housed in this area. Either they will have a small flat in a purpose-built block of 3 or 4 floors, or one floor of a converted house. In either case it will have one double bedroom, one bathroom, and an open-plan kitchen/living space. Flats will also have a balcony overlooking the street, or - on the ground floor - a small garden to the rear of the building. See also: Living Quarters.
Cultural quarter: This is where the Royal Theatre, Reeling Cinema and the town library are located, as well as the small Lovewater History Museum which is run as a passion project by some dedicated volunteers. Neither the cinema nor the theatre will show anything filmed/written before 1942; sorry! However, Lovewater has a strong community theatre presence; if a character wants to try putting on Wicked from memory, then they're welcome to do that. Most dine-in restaurants (serving a variety of tastes and cultural backgrounds) are also in this area.
Town Square: A large open space, sometimes used for seasonal markets or festivals. Also has several large noticeboards advertising local businesses and clubs.
Bars & Pubs: That British staple. Lovewater, conservatively, has four which are worthy of note:

Bars & Pubs: That British staple. Lovewater, conservatively, has four which are worthy of note:
- The Beehive: A large and family-friendly place, across the road from the park on the west side of the residential area, best known for pub lunches and board games. Has a comfy basement cinema with more contemporary offerings than Reeling Cinema. Pleasant, quiet and comfortable at any time of day.
- Half Moon: Located in the cultural quarter, open for coffee and conversation during the day and dancing and cocktails after dark. Tends to be loud and lively, particularly on Friday and Saturday nights. Has karaoke booths for hire upstairs, and live music on some evenings.
- The Crooked Billet: Located towards the northwestern edge of town, this establishment is constantly on the brink of losing its license. Considered a good place for conversations best not overheard by law enforcement, and something of a centre for Lovewater's small but busy black market.
- The Buck & Doe: Very close to the Lovewater Exchange and often considered an extension to it, this is often the locals' first stop before going to the market - either for a bite to eat, or to find a partner or two to tag along with. You can expect to see a fair bit of heavy petting in dark corners.
Court Park Hospital: While there are pharmacies, dentists, and doctors' surgeries for minor ailments, more serious injuries or illness should take you here! The hospital can also dispatch ambulances in case of emergency.
Police & Fire Brigade stations: Should be self-explanatory. See also Crime & Punishment on the Essentials page.
Town Hall & Chamber of Commerce: Lovewater Council takes responsibility for making sure that rubbish is collected, the streets are clean, that damages are repaired, etc. The Chamber of Commerce also has an office here and takes responsibility for businesses in town. If you're interested in, for example, starting your own shop or moving into a larger home, this is where you'll need to come.
Bedding's Supermarket & retail quarter: Most shops are in this area. There are no recognisable chain stores in Lovewater, and (besides Bedding's supermarket) most shops are small businesses serving a particular niche. Some goods are seasonal; fireworks, for example, are available for sale from mid-October to the end of December.
There are certain things you can't legitimately buy anywhere in town, including:

- Live animals (although pet food etc. is available for sale)
- Most recreational drugs
- Chemicals and devices you would expect to be restricted for sale in real life; please ask if unsure!
Yes, 'legitimately' is the key word here; speak to the mod if you want to start a blackmarket chicken-breeding business.
Player-run businesses and shops are listed on the Businesses, Jobs & Clubs page.
Lovewater Exchange
This large Palladian building used to be a Corn Exchange serving the locality. It has since been adapted into a market and meeting place, all the better to provide tribute to Miss L.
The ground floor, and much of the first floor, make up an open-plan marketplace selling a wide variety of sexual aids. Everything from lube, condoms and bullet vibes to sex swings, bespoke fucking machines and sounding kits can be purchased here, along with a variety of erotic books and films.
The rest of the first floor is dedicated to evening classes. Yes, these will cover more ambitious subjects like suspension bondage, fireplay and fisting, but the residents of Lovewater have long since noticed the variety in their newcomers. Other classes discuss sexuality and gender, sexual health, enthusiastic consent, approaching conversations about alien anatomy, Hysteria Isn't Really A Thing, et cetera. Experienced facilitators and models are always welcome to volunteer.
The second floor is for lovers. This includes a space for residents to mix and mingle socially, a larger space with lots of soft furniture for residents to mix and mingle sexually, and a number of bedrooms with large curtained windows facing inward. A closed curtain is a demand for privacy; an open curtain is an invitation to watch; an open door is an invitation to join in.
The basement is very similar to the second floor, but activity down here is oriented around kink. All the equipment and space you might need is made available for you to fulfil whatever your heart desires, either publicly or privately.
The basement also contains the Aphro Room. You cannot just stumble in here. You'll be stopped at the door by a friendly member of staff and told what to expect: this room is a bubble of space where Miss L's influence is felt very strongly. Your sex drive will be ramped up, your inhibitions lowered and your refractory period shortened.
This does not mean that if you ran into your worst enemy here, you'll inevitably end up fucking them - the aphrodisiac effects are not so strong that you'll feel a need to have sex so badly that anybody will do. They make desires you already have feel more intense, and maybe a bit less embarrassing, but there's no point at which you won't be able to leave and jump into a cold shower.
(Hot showers are also available.)
